About TIP

Taiwan Institute of Psychotherapy

Taiwan Institute of Psychotherapy (TIP) was founded by a group of devoted psychotherapists in November 2001 in Taipei, Taiwan. The mission of TIP is to strengthen the professional ability and global connection of psychotherapists within Chinese- speaking communities through Internet, journal publishing and on-going professional training.

Department of Program Planning:

The objectives of this department are to establish a professional training center and to offer advanced training for psychotherapy professionals, including:

  • Theoretical enhancement
  • Clinical application and practice
  • Clinical supervision

Department of Psychotherapy:

The Department of Psychotherapy is aimed at promoting professional development, training and clinical services.

The visions of this department are:

  • to lower the economic threshold for those who are in need of psychotherapy;
  • to advance the development of the local professional communities in psychotherapy.

 

The missions of this department are:

  • to build a practice, research, and training center of psychotherapy for Chinese-speaking communities;
  • to provide affordable quality psychotherapy to the general public.

 

A family therapy center is to be inaugurated in October 2006. Other clinical centers, such as stress management clinic, will be established in the future.


Department of Research and Development:

The goal of this department is to develop psychotherapy approaches culturally sensitive to Chinese-speaking clients, with special focus on issues related to mental health of children and adolescents, and mental health in workplace.
